No, it is not from the rainforest, this stone is
named as such because of it's color and pattern. Before oil treatment
this stone has a light greenish gray color with "wild" veining, once
treated, it will darken to an emerald green and the white veining will
become more evident. One of very few soapstones that do not turn
black.it is also a harder than average soapstone. A truly Exotic
soapstone.
