Inside the COTE Korean Steakhouse at The Venetian in Las Vegas: Showcasing Stormy Black Soapstone

Soapstone’s timeless aesthetic and commercial-grade durability make it ideal for high-traffic hospitality environments like COTE Korean Steakhouse.

The recently opened COTE Korean Steakhouse at The Venetian in Las Vegas is a bold fusion of culinary artistry and design innovation. Within this immersive dining destination, the collaboration between Rockwell Group and M. Teixeira Soapstone plays a defining role, bringing visual depth, refined texture, and enduring strength to nearly every area in the restaurant’s interior.

Commercial Soapstone Applications

This large-scale Stormy Black Soapstone installation includes custom-fabricated soapstone tables, a dramatic soapstone bar facade, bathroom vanities, drink rails, and service stations, all designed to complement the sleek, open-concept layout. Soapstone’s timeless aesthetic and commercial-grade durability make it ideal for high-traffic hospitality environments like COTE Korean Steakhouse.

In restaurants and commercial settings, soapstone is often used for dining tables, bar surrounds, backsplashes, countertops, and even flooring—applications where resistance to heat, moisture, and wear is key. This project not only demonstrates the material’s design versatility, but also reflects the strong relationships M. Teixeira Soapstone has built with leading designers and hospitality groups worldwide.

Designing with Rockwell Group

Collaborating with Rockwell Group on the COTE Las Vegas project brought together renowned design talent and material expertise. Rockwell Group envisioned a space that was immersive, refined, and built to withstand daily use. Stormy Black Soapstone was chosen to bring that vision to life. This project is part of M. Teixeira’s ongoing partnership with COTE Restaurants, which includes work in Miami and Singapore, with a new installation underway at their 550 Madison location in New York.

Custom Applications at Scale: From Bar to Bathroom

The COTE Las Vegas project showcases how soapstone can be used across a full-scale restaurant build, bringing lasting strength and design consistency in every space.

  • Dining Room Tables. Crafted for ambiance and everyday durability, soapstone tables balance elegance with resilience.
  • Main Bar Fascia & Drink Rail Facades. Soapstone adds texture and visual drama to high-traffic areas while standing up to constant use.
  • Custom Bathroom Sinks. Carved from solid blocks, these sinks are sculptural and seamless, extending the design throughout the space.
  • Service Stations. Built for efficiency but styled to match the interior’s sophistication, these installations highlight soapstone’s toughness under pressure.

From front-of-house focal points to behind-the-scenes surfaces, this installation illustrates the precision and scope of custom soapstone fabrication.

Natural Soapstone Delivers Beauty and Performance

Stormy Black Soapstone isn’t just visually striking; it’s built to perform. All soapstone varieties are naturally nonporous, resist moisture absorption, and stand up to heat, bacteria, and mold, making it an excellent choice for high-demand hospitality environments where cleanliness and longevity matter.

Whether you’re designing a high-end restaurant, luxury soapstone bar, or custom residential kitchen, the COTE project showcases what’s possible when beauty meets material integrity.
