COTE 550
Location: New York, NY
Scope of Work: COTE 550 brings multiple hospitality concepts together under one roof, and the design called for materials that could anchor the space without competing with it. Stormy Black Soapstone was selected throughout, chosen for its depth and natural movement.
The project included custom dining tabletops across the full dining room, along with the standout element of the installation: a dramatic custom staircase fabricated entirely in Stormy Black with fully mitered edges. To meet code requirements, the 3 cm soapstone was milled down to ⅝”, a process that demanded tight tolerances in substrate preparation, adhesive selection, material handling, and installation. The result is a staircase that reads as a sculptural architectural feature as much as a functional one.

Food Network Studios NYC
Location: New York, NY
Scope of Work: What began in 2023 as a small repair job for chipped and cracked Dekton countertops evolved into a nearly two-year collaboration with Warner Brothers and the Food Network. After patchwork solutions reached their limit, the decision was made to fully replace the surfaces across both floors of the studio. M. Teixeira Soapstone was selected to lead the transformation, sourcing approximately 40 slabs from a single lot in Brazil and coordinating the entire timeline around an active production schedule.
The finalists came down to three materials, evaluated under full studio lighting and camera setups to test how each performed alongside food. Honed Perla Santana quartzite was the clear choice—its warm ivory tones and matte surface enhanced the presentation without overpowering it. The scope included expansive islands, mitered countertops, dramatic waterfalls, overhangs with full returns, and the demolition of existing surfaces, all delivered four days ahead of schedule with zero disruption to filming.
